Colorado Springs, CO - Congressman Doug Lamborn announced his candidacy for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives for Colorado’s 5th Congressional District.

In the current 117th Congress, Lamborn has served as Ranking Republican on the House Armed Services Committee’s Subcommittee on Readiness during the 2021 session, overseeing approximately $300 billion in military spending. One week ago, Mike Rogers, Ranking Republican on the House Armed Services Committee, announced Congressman Lamborn’s appointment to serve as the Ranking Republican on the Strategic Forces Subcommittee. This promotion comes from Lamborn’s seniority and hard work. This subcommittee oversees our nation’s nuclear weapons, missile defense, and military space capabilities. Additionally, Lamborn will serve on the Intelligence and Special Operations Subcommittee on Armed Services. Congressman Lamborn is the fourth most senior Republican on the 62-member committee.

Congressman Lamborn also serves as a senior member on the House Natural Resources Committee, and its subcommittees on Energy and Mineral Resources and National Parks, Forests, and Public Lands.

“It is an honor to represent the people of the 5th Congressional District of Colorado in our nation’s capital. Throughout my time in Congress, I have dedicated my time and strength to defending our Constitution, fortifying our national security, strengthening our economy, advocating for our veterans and those bravely serving our country, and protecting our traditional values. I have pushed back time and time again against the Democrats outrageous spending, unconstitutional mandates, weakness on defense, assaults on the Second Amendment, and open-border policies.

“With Joe Biden as our President for the next several years, it is critical that we flip the House and the Senate and stop his far left agenda in its tracks. I will continue leading the fight against the progressive agenda of the left, which will take away our freedoms and prosperity and replace them with big government programs and uncontrolled debt. Coloradans deserve a leader with a proven, conservative voting record. I will never waver when it comes to putting America first.
